Ministries

Bus Ministry

“And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
Luke 14:23

To bus and children’s workers everywhere, this is a very familiar verse of Scripture. At Ripley Baptist Temple, we take this and other verses literally, and each week run vans and buses throughout our area of Jackson County, WV.

Each year, many people are saved and baptized as a result of faithful bus captains and bus drivers from Ripley Baptist Temple knocking on their door, with an invitation to ride the bus.

Our bus routes run every Sunday morning throughout the year, and also on Wednesday nights during the school year.

Following are some of the areas our buses reach each week: all the city of Ripley, Ravenswood Pike, Sandyville, Route 33 East toward Spencer, Route 21- North and South, Gay Road, Kenna, Given Road, Goldtown, Fisher Ridge, Dudden, Fairplain, Cottageville, Evans, Flatwoods Road, Millwood, and Evergreen Hills. (Many other “highways and hedges” could be added to this list.)

Our bus ministry workers are faithful and dedicated members of Ripley Baptist Temple. All have been proven to be solid and respected members of our community.

We love the bus ministry! Our prayer is that we will not only see sinners saved, but also see young people grow up to love the Lord and serve Him.

Sunday School

“The B-I-B-L-E, yes that’s the Book for me!” is not just a song sung at Ripley Baptist Temple, but a conviction held by our pastor and congregation. Each Sunday at 9:30am, classes meet all over our church. From the nursery through adults, faithful and prayerful men and women open the pages of God’s Holy Word and teach its eternal truths to men, women, boys, girl, and teens.

“Sunday School is the hub of the Church. We believe the Bible is relevant to every age group,” says Pastor Rick Perrine.

Currently; there are six adult classes offered at 9:30 each Sunday. (New Converts, College-Career, Homebuilders, Golden Years, Divorce Recovery, and the Pastor’s class known as Fidelis Class.)

Come and be a part of a growing and exciting Sunday School! (We use the KJV as our text in every class.)

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
II Timothy 2:15

Golden Years Fellowship

Probably one of the most active groups within our church is our GYF (Golden Years Fellowship.)

Each month, the GYF meets on a Tuesday at noon in our Family Life Center for a covered dish dinner. (The food is plentiful and delicious!) Anyone in their “golden years” is invited to come have a great time. After a meal, we sing songs, recognize birthdays and anniversaries, play games, laugh and cry, share testimonies, and have a message from God’s Word.

Also, each month the GYF takes a trip to places of interest in our area. Once a year, we will have an overnight stay during one of our trips. We have gone to so many places, they are far too numerous to mention here. We always have great fellowship and good clean fun together.
